When you use emilyrhalper.com (the "Site"), we may collect the following information:
- Account information: email address, display name, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
- Uploaded content: artwork images, artist statements, and reflections you submit through the Studio.
- Contact form submissions: name, email address, subject, and message content.
- Commission inquiries: name, email, commission details (type, medium, size, vision, timeline).
- Usage data: basic server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Account management: to create and maintain your Studio account, authenticate your sessions, and enable you to access your submissions and reflections.
- AI critique generation: your uploaded images and artist statements are sent to an AI service to generate art critiques and reflections. Image data is processed transiently and is not retained by the AI provider beyond the request.
- Admin oversight: Emily Rose Halper and designated administrators may review submissions to curate content for the Living Archive.
- Communication: to respond to contact form submissions and commission inquiries.
- Site improvement: to understand how the Site is used and to improve functionality.
3. Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies:
- Session cookie: a secure, HTTP-only cookie is set when you log in to authenticate your session. This cookie is essential for account functionality and cannot be disabled while using account features.
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party tracking cookies.
4. Third-Party Services
- Cloudflare: the Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process basic request data (IP address, request headers) as part of hosting and security services. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): uploaded artwork and artist statements are sent to Anthropic's API to generate AI critiques. Anthropic processes this data according to their Privacy Policy. Image data is not stored by Anthropic beyond the API request.
- Google Fonts: web fonts are loaded from Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Uploaded images and submissions are retained unless you request deletion or your account is terminated.
- Contact form messages and commission inquiries are retained for business communication purposes.
- Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging purposes.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion: ask us to delete your account and associated data. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
- Request content removal: ask us to remove your submissions from the Living Archive or any public-facing section of the Site.
- Correct your data: request corrections to inaccurate personal information.

7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Passwords are stored as secure cryptographic hashes and are never stored in plain text.
- Authentication sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies.
- The Site is served over HTTPS encryption.
However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
